What is it?

You may not be too familiar with Single Session Therapy (SST) however, it is a very well researched and regarded approach that has been used successfully for many years.  The SST approach is designed to provide meaningful support in one session, at the time you need it.  The focus is on one specific problem, issue or concern and you will leave the session with an action plan of how to move forward.  You then take time to try out this action plan and see what happens.  Depending on the outcome you may decide you need no further sessions or you may decide you wish to return for another session. The door is always left open open for additional help if needed, we're simply saying, if things resolve, great!  If not, then come back.

Key Features of SST

  • Intentional & Focused – You and the therapist work together with the goal of making progress in one session.

  • Client-Led – You define the issue you want to address, and the therapist helps you explore solutions.

  • Strength-Based – Emphasizes your existing resources and ability to create change.

  • Flexible – While designed as a single session, you can return for more if needed.

  • Immediate Help – Prioritizes offering support at the point of need rather than waiting for multiple sessions.
